Hand-held laser scanning technology for rapid digitizing of objects for animation and prototyping. No motorised gantry or mechanical arm is required. A breakthrough in scattered data interpolation that enables large data sets to be modelled by a single analytic function, on a desktop computer. Applications include visualisation, resampling (gridding), smoothing (approximation), warping and surface modelling.
