ARANZ's 2D research is focused on mapping and image manipulation problems.
Both topographic and 2D image data can be represented by Radial Basis Functions (RBFs).
The 2D RBF models that the FastRBFTM software produces are well-suited to these problems:
- Scattered, noisy data are easily modelled.
- The functional representation is smooth and can be evaluated at any resolution without artifacts.
